There are a wide range of projects offered in some sectors such as healthcare, childcare, education, and NGO supports. We highly recommend you to choose any project fitting with your skills, experiences and passion.
It usually takes around 7-15 working days depending on projects. It takes longer for NGO support projects; however, we try to give you the response at the soonest as much as we can.
This can be varied from one project to another and can be found in project section; however, our projects start from 2 weeks to 6 months.
No, you won’t. You will be offered two-day introduction including orientation about Cambodia and city tour. We want you to feel ready and avoid culture shock before start your work.
We can accept if they are accompanied by adults who are over 18 years old. Furthermore, those who are 16-17 years old can be accepted only if they can provide a parent approval letter.

We accept volunteers/interns within the whole period. You are recommended to check our public holidays (https://www.officeholidays.com/countries/cambodia/2019) to avoid reduction of your working days.
This deposit is covered for administrative costs in arranging worthy and fitting volunteer placements for you, and we are just a local non-government organization; however, this deposit will be compensated with the program fee once you confirm to come.
We don’t offer refund in any case.
You will find our fee is affordable as we are the local non-profit organization working with grassroots community and this fee will cover as below:
- Local coordinators/in-country supports
- One-way airport pick-up
- Orientation and city tour
- Welcome lunch or dinner
- Meals and accommodation
- Permanently manned reception for assistance in case of emergency
- Help with visa extensions or procuring visas to neighboring countries
- The other programs which are working with community in STAR Kampuchea
There are 2 options of the final payment: you can pay online via bank accounts, and this must be 2 week prior your departure. Or you can pay in USD$ cash to the local team upon your arrival.
After a flight booking, please send information details to the local team who will arrange a pick-up for you.
You are highly recommended to arrive on Sunday (one day) before your proposed starting date. You can arrive early than Sunday but a small amount of early arrival will be charged.
Based on our country law, most countries are required the visa, and you are advised to check with your embassy for more details.
You can obtain Visa at the Phnom Penh International Airport or borders of almost all nationalities. It is US$ 30 for a tourist visa or US$ 35 for a business visa (you should bring 2 passport photos just in case of needs). Both are valid for 4 weeks. We recommend that volunteers buy a business visa as this can be extended officially for long periods. A tourist visa on the other hand can be extended only once and only for a month. You can also obtain it online (https://www.evisa.gov.kh/)

Yes, you are. There are always staff and a house owner at Tat house, or you will stay with our host families.
